Magazine Subscription and merchandise orders may be funded using a credit card.
International Payment Methods
All international orders must be pre-paid including shipping in advance by Credit Card. Customers are responsible for customs duties and tariffs whenever applicable.
Orders by Phone or Mail
We are happy to accept your order over the phone. Please realize that our phone resources are limited and priority is given to our retail and website customers. Chances are very good that you’ll be directed to voice mail… if it’s important enough to call then please leave a message for us to return your call.
All orders shipped within the state of Colorado are subject to a combined state, county, and RTA sales tax of (5.13% as of 08.29.2014).
Product and subscription delivery is processed through USPS and sent via First Class or Priority Mail depending on order size. Very large orders may be shipped FedEX ground. You will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with directions for tracking your package.
Magazine on subscription service ship free of charge to domestic customers. All other merchandise orders will have shipping calculated at time of checkout.
Due to the additional time required for completion of customs paperwork, international orders may take up to 3 business days to process and ship. Our shopping cart quote your shipping and processing based upon the shipping method selected at checkout. Please note that our staff will be unable to provide estimates of shipping via e-mail as shipping charges are calculated by the shopping cart based upon order weight and shipping destination.
We ship FOB origin (Colorado Springs, CO), indicating that once the product is loaded on the truck, the recipient now has title to the product, and is responsible for shipping charges and any freight claims should damage occur. Should any freight damages occur, you must note it on the bill of lading and file a claim with the freight company. Customs duties and taxes: International orders may be subject to import taxes, Customs duties and fees which are collected once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for Customs clearance must be paid by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary from country to country; it is your responsibility to know the laws and regulations that apply to you or you should contact your local Customs office for further information. When Customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates. BalsaBuilder.com will not be responsible for shortages or damages to packages opened by Customs. International orders are clearly declared as “Toy Model Airplane Parts” and will have the EXACT value indicated on the customs forms. All International orders are shipped via USPS Express Mail International or Priority Mail International unless special arrangements have been made for shipment via your carrier. We comply with all US Customs regulations and WILL NOT falsify customs documents -please do not ask us to do so. Including USPS Priority and Express delivery methods please allow a minimum of 30 days transit time for all international shipments to clear customs and reach their foreign destination. USPS will not initiate a search for foreign shipments until 30 days have elapsed.
All orders are insured for up to $100.00 loss. Additional insurance is optional and must be arranged prior to checkout. If you do not purchase additional insurance coverage for your package you assume all liabilty for any loss greater than $100.00. Regardless of the amount of additional insurance you purchase you will only be reimbursed for the lesser of either your insured value or order total including shipping. BalsaBuilder.com will not be able to assist you in recovering lost, damaged, or stolen merchandise if you did not elect to purchase adequate shipping insurance for your order.
Missing Items / Shipping Damage
Orders are carefully packed to avoid damage. Please inspect your orders upon arrival and notify us within 48 hours of receipt of any damaged or missing items. Order Tracking is included with your shipping charges and will alert you to only the delivery status of your order.
Contact BalsaBuilder.com within five (5) business days of receipt of damaged goods to request a claim form.
Fill out claim form completely, attach all paperwork and return to BalsaBuilder.com within 30 days from date of shipment.
For LOST parcels you must wait 21 days for domestic and 45 days for International before starting the claim process. (Damage claims can be filed immediately.)

Kit, Short-Kit, and Plans Warranty
Balsa Builder guarantees all in-house manufactured kit and plans products to be free from defects in both material and workmanship at the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover any component parts damaged by use or modification. In no case shall BalsaBuilder.com’s liability exceed the original cost of the purchased kit. Further, BalsaBuilder.com reserves the right to change or modify this warranty without notice. In that BalsaBuilder.com has no control over the final assembly or material used for final assembly, no liability shall be assumed nor accepted for any damage resulting from the use by the user of the final user-assembled product. By the act of using the user–assembled product, the user accepts all resulting liability. If the buyer is not prepared to accept the liability associated with the use of this product, the buyer is advised to return the kit or plan product immediately in new and unused condition to the place of purchase.
BalsaBuilder.com warrants only those goods manufactured by or for BalsaBuilder.com. Please inspect all goods promptly upon receipt. Merchandise found to be defective may be exchange under the following conditions: Merchandise must be returned unused in its original package within 30 days of purchase. Please include a brief note describing the defect with your return.
All electrical items are warranted to arrive in working condition any additional warranty or repair service is the responsibility of the products respective manufacturer and will not be handled by BalsaBuilder.com. All of the electrical products which we stock are backed by reputable companies with excellent repair policies. These companies will repair/replace the item quicker than we could get a replacement sent to you. If your electrical item has failed in use, has been found to be defective, or you require warranty service or repair work; please contact the manufacture/distributor directly for support.
Any unused merchandise returned for refund must be returned within 30 days of purchase. BalsaBuilder.com will not accept returns on items after 30 days of purchase. Non-defective unused merchandise may be returned for refund or exchange under the following conditions: Merchandise must be returned new, unused, in the original sealed package, and in resalable condition. Any return with an incomplete, opened, or missing package will not be exchanged or refunded. Merchandise will be refunded or exchanged at our sole discretion. You must include a copy of your original invoice, along with a note describing the reason for return or exchange or we will not process your return. Returns for refund will be charge a restocking fee of 10% of the purchase price plus our original cost of shipping.

Balsa Builder Magazine – Digital Editions Membership
Access to Digital Editions of BalsaBuilder Magazine are available for purchase as an upgrade to an existing quarterly print subscription, or as a stand alone item. With the purchase of our Digital Editions Membership product, access is granted to digitally archived versions of our publication through a browser based application hosted by balsabuilder.com. Digital Editions Membership requires internet access to view the publication and does not provide a method for digital off-line viewing (you will have the option to print selected articles for off-line viewing). Subscribing to Digital Editions Membership grants access to our publication archives for a period of one year from date of purchase – this membership will be renewed annually to maintain access to the archives and may be cancelled at any time prior to renewal. When purchasing our Digital Editions Membership please keep in mind that you are purchasing access to publication archives, as new publications are developed these will be placed within our archives and available through to service members in good standing. Purchasing our Digital Editions Membership offers no guarantee of future publication nor any warranty of publication frequency.
Balsa Builder Magazine Subscription
Delivery Schedule (Updated 09.01.2016):
Balsa Builder Magazine is published quarterly: Spring (April*), Summer (July*), Fall (October*), and Winter (January*). Subscriptions received during the month prior to, or the first two months of, the delivery quarter will receive the current quarter’s magazine. For example: A subscription received in March (month prior), April, or May will receive the Spring quarterly issue of BalsaBuilder. A subscription received in June will begin with the following quarter – Summer (July). Back issues of balsabuilder are available directly from our web store at balsabuilder.com, and available at a discount to current subscribers. Our current fulfillment model does not enable us to back-date your subscription.
*Magazine publication is scheduled for the first month of the quarter.
Renewals and Payment:
A payment is processed immediately upon the day you enter your subscription. You will receive your first magazine delivery in accordance with the delivery schedule outlined above. Your subscription to BalsaBuilder will then automatically renew quarterly until you notify us of your intent to cancel. Unless we hear from you otherwise, BalsaBuilder will bill the credit card, established with your new subscription order, in an attempt to renew your quarterly subscription. Billing for the next scheduled quarterly magazine occurs on the 28th day of the month prior to the start of the new quarter. Physical delivery of the magazine will not take place until 4-6 weeks after your renewal billing date.
We hope that you find our content compelling, but understand if your interests change. As such, you may cancel at any time prior to the next billing cycle which starts on the 28th day of the month prior to magazine delivery.
